World's Giant Fishes

This fish species can grow up to a length of 177 inches (45o centimetres) and weigh 441 pounds (200 kg). It can be found at the Amazon Basin, South America. The diet of this fish consists of fish or even other small kinds of small animals, including birds. Has the ability to breathe air from the surface due to lung-like lining of its throat.

It can grow up to a length of 79 inches (200 centimetres) and weigh 250 pounds (113.5 kg). It can be found at the Murray River Basin, Australia. Its a long lived fish and carnivorous, mainly on other fishes. The murray cod exhibits high parental care towards their eggs, which are spawned in the spring and are generally laid in hollow log or on hard surfaces.

It can grow up to a length of 118 inches (300 centimetres) and weigh 661.5 pounds (300kg). It can be found in the Mekong river basin, Southeast Asia. Its the largest barb in the world and because of it is highly sort after as fish food, its numbers has been in decline in recent years.

It can grow up to a length of 197 inches (500 centimetres) and weigh 1323 pounds (600kg) with a body diameter of 95 inches (240 centimetres). Can be found in the Mekong river basin, Southeast Asia.

It can grow up to a length of 118 inches (300 centimetres) and weigh up to 661.4 pounds (300kg). It inhabits the Mekong river basin, Southeast Asia. Its now an endangered fish species and nearly 60 thai fishermen have agreed to stop catching the endangered catfish in June 2006, to mark the 60th Anniversary of Bhumibol Adulyadej's accession to the throne of Thailand.

It can grow up to a length of at least six feet (2 metres) and weigh more than 200 pounds (90kg) and can be found in Mongolia.
